Do I have to "try out" to play on a team?
We do not hold try outs for our league. Teams may directly recruit players and any remaining spots are filled with newbies.
Do you have divisions?
We divide teams into brackets based on their performance during the season. Some teams tend to be more competitive by nature and some teams are less competitive. Not all teams will be a good fit. Please answer your new player form honestly so we can place you on the correct team for your experience and intensity-level.
What equipment do I need to buy?
We strongly recommend plastic cleats (metal spikes not allowed) over tennis shoes, but either are permitted. Mouth guards, head protection, ankle and knee braces are encouraged for safety but are not required. The league provides footballs, flag belts, and basic first aid supplies.
When does the Summer League usually run?
We run our league from mid-May through early August. All regular games are played on Thursday evenings (7:00 - 8:05 pm) at Mack Park Fairground Fields in Indiana, Pennsylvania. We hold all Championship games on a Saturday.
How many teams play in the Summer League?
League size varies from season to season. We currently have 10 teams in our league.
How many practices do I have to attend?
ZERO! This is a recreational league and most teams rarely or never practice. If your team organizes a practice, please know that they are not mandatory (although they are very helpful).
Do you play football at other times of the year?
Yes, we sometimes host off season bowls or pick-up games for adult players. Any woman 18 and up may participate. You do not need to play in our summer league to play in these games.
